Pool surround and paver buying guide
Sizes
- CMP porcelain: 600 x 600 x 20mm in most colours, and 800 x 400 x 20mm in Urban Grey and Urban Ivory.
- Basalt and granite cobbles: 600 x 390 x 30mm sheets on mesh, laid brick lay or side by side.
How much do I need?
Work out the area in m² and add 10% for cuts. For a pool surround, measure the outside of the paved area and subtract the pool and coping.
Example: an 8 x 4m pool with 300mm coping and a 1.2m surround: (11.0 x 7.0) − (8.6 x 4.6) = 37.4m², plus 10% = about 42m².
How it's laid
20mm porcelain can be laid on compacted aggregate, a concrete pad or adjustable pedestals such as UltraJack for decks and roofs. It withstands a one-tonne point load.
Why porcelain outdoors
CMP porcelain is rated R11 to R13 for wet areas, absorbs less than 0.5% water, resists staining and never needs sealing.
